Care for mission-driven teams

Burnout, volunteer grief, critical incidents — a contract chaplain brings confidential presence without replacing your leadership or HR.

Questions agencies ask

More in the nonprofit guide and crisis debrief.

When should a nonprofit hire a contract chaplain?

When staff or volunteers face grief, moral injury, burnout, or critical incidents that protocols alone cannot address. A chaplain provides confidential pastoral care alongside your leadership and HR — without replacing them. Nonprofit guide →

What does contract chaplaincy include?

Typical scope includes confidential pastoral conversations, grief and crisis support, debriefs after difficult events, retreat or program support, and partnership with justice ministries such as Kairos — defined together in a written engagement plan.

Is chaplaincy confidential for staff and volunteers?

Yes. Pastoral conversations are private and spiritual in nature. A contract chaplain does not replace HR, does not supervise programs, and does not report pastoral care conversations to leadership.

Do you work with Kairos and justice programs?

Yes. Experience partnering with Kairos and justice-program teams inside and alongside correctional ministry, including Kairos Torch. Kairos partnership guide →

How do we scope an engagement?

Start with a conversation about your agency, team, and season. We define ongoing contract chaplaincy or project-based support — on-site, virtual, or blended — then serve consistently alongside your staff and programs. Call or text 214-735-9356 or use the form below.

Next step for agencies

Tell me about your team and season — we’ll scope contract chaplaincy together. Read the nonprofit guide first if helpful.
