Wednesday Reset Strength for the Workplace
Reorgs, change & instability
When Everything Keeps Changing
Mid-Week Encouragement for the Weary Worker

Key Verse
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” — Hebrews 13:8 (NIV)
Hook
New software. New boss. New chart. New “vision.” Before you learn the last process, the next one lands. Change is not always bad — but constant change without care becomes noise. People get tired of unpacking boxes that never stay put.
Change fatigue is real. It is the soul-version of motion sickness: the room keeps moving and you are trying to stand still enough to do good work.
Reflection
Hebrews 13:8 is an anchor in a moving building: Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Org charts shift. Christ does not. That is not a slogan to ignore real stress. It is the fixed point when everything else is labeled “transition.”
Isaiah 43:2 does not promise you will never pass through waters. It promises you will not be alone in them. Psalm 46 says God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble — even when the earth gives way. Reorgs are not earthquakes, but they can feel like the floor slid.
Faithfulness in change looks like learning what you must, grieving what you lost, and refusing to make cynicism your identity. You can adapt without worshiping every new initiative. You can name exhaustion without quitting every good thing.
The ground under your feet may move. The One who holds your life does not.
This Wednesday at Work
One small pushback against change fatigue:
- Name what changed and what did not — two columns. Let the second column include Christ, calling, and the people still with you (Hebrews 13:8, NIV).
- Learn one thing, not ten — pick the next required skill or process and take one inch of progress. Overwhelm often comes from trying to swallow the whole reorg at once.
- Rest on purpose this week — change burns fuel. A walk, a Sabbath rhythm, sleep. Tired people make bitter people if they never stop.
If you lead: explain the why, honor what people lost, and stop changing the plan every Monday. Stability is a form of care.
Prayer for the Workplace
Unchanging Lord, steady us when the workplace will not sit still. Give patience for new systems, grace for tired teams, and wisdom for leaders who must guide change without crushing people. Be our refuge when the chart moves again. Amen.
Closing
If everything keeps changing, you are allowed to be tired — and you are still held by a Savior who does not.
If reorg stress, job uncertainty, or team upheaval needs confidential pastoral care for you or your workplace, I am here for that too.
